Secrets in the White House

Some might suggest that this administration is paranoid and has created a secret underground government.

Bush Blames Cuts at Energy Lab on Mix-Up

By BEN FELLER, Associated Press Writer 31 minutes ago

GOLDEN, Colo. -
President Bush on Tuesday acknowledged that Washington has sent "mixed signals" to one of the nation's premiere labs studying renewable energies — by first laying off, then reinstating, 32 workers just before his visit.

The president blamed the conflicting message on an appropriations mix-up in funding the Energy Department's National Renewable Energy Laboratory, which is developing the very renewable energy technologies the president is promoting.

For full story, go here.

So, my take is that Bush is looking for some news that will be cheered and up his ratings, but ooops! he either didn't know or lied about the layoffs at this lab. Either way, how much more incompetent can he get???

We already know that Bush is not the Golden Boy of the energy and environmental sector, and as far as pretending that he cares for these issues, over the needs of business lobbyists, does he really have any credibility tokens left??

Did you know that lab is run by a "private contractor"? Everything seems to be privately contracted in the government these days, doesn't it? I suppose that assures that Bush & Friends receive their cut of all taxpayer monies! Clever!
